We are excited to announce that Patryk Obstarczyk have joined the Academia Iuvenum at Wrocław University of Science and Technology for the 2025–2027 term. This distinguished group consists of young scientists, each at least one year post-PhD, who have demonstrated significant achievements in their fields. Academia Iuvenum serves as a platform for scientific exchange, supports university initiatives, and empowers young researchers to voice their opinions within and beyond the university. The official nomination ceremony and farewell to the outgoing members will take place on July 8. Congratulations to all new members on this remarkable achievement!
He considers his greatest achievement to be the quantitative analysis of two- and three-photon circular dichroism for both enantiomers of Au38(PET)24 nanoclusters, performed using the polarimetric Z-scan technique. In his research, he synthesized the aforementioned nanoclusters, separated their enantiomers, and conducted measurements in the field of nonlinear optics.
This research, which includes the first-ever experimental measurement of three-photon circular dichroism, provides an excellent starting point for systematic studies of the chiro-optical properties of various materials, without the limitations imposed by high-energy laser beams operating in the UV range.
He is a recipient of grants from the National Science Centre (Preludium), NAWA (Bekker), and the Foundation for Polish Science (NONA). He has also received the Start scholarship (FNP) and the Jan Mozrzymas City Scholarship. He is a laureate of the Secundus, Quintus, and Quartus programs.
As part of Academia Iuvenum, he plans to expand knowledge on the synthesis and applications of anisotropic and atomically precise nanoclusters of coinage metals. Additionally, he intends to organize a series of training sessions focused on developing skills related to the promotion of scientific projects in the media. He also plans to share his teaching techniques and skills with other members.
