Alzheimer's and other diseases related to brain dysfunction affect a growing number of people every year. Unfortunately, there is still no cure for such neurodegenerative disorders, nor good tests to detect them in the early stages of development. During the lecture, our team leader Prof. Olesiak-Bańska, along with the members of the Gambrinus student association, will present the extraordinary properties of gold nanoparticles produced in our laboratory, how such nanoparticles can be used to monitor the course of Alzheimer's disease, and how to create new methods of diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases.
